Dear Men’s Club Members,
By now we have heard the encouraging news from the governor on reduced COVID-19 cases in our state which has led to various restrictions being lifted. Although large indoor assemblies are still not allowed, hopefully the phasing in of community gatherings will not be too far away. In the meantime, we must continue social distancing to protect us all in order to once again socialize with our families, friends and enjoy our Stonebridge facilities.
Men’s Club Board Election
In my last correspondence of May 16th, I included a list of candidates for positions on the Executive Board. I also requested anyone wishing to be considered for a Board position to submit their name to me by May 26th. As there were no additional candidates, and in lieu of an in-person member meeting, the Stonebridge Men’s Club Executive Board is pleased to announce the following officers in accordance with the Bylaws for the 2020-2021 fiscal year:
- President Don Marino
- Treasurer George Fischer
- Secretary Mike Silverstein
- VP Activities Ira Cutler
- VP Membership Stan Fischer
- VP Fundraising Rick Schlanger
- VP Committees Frank Zucarro
Many thanks to Marcial Alzugaray, Fred Block, Gary Lee and Jack Pomeranc for their service to the Board and the advancement of the Men’s Club during their respective terms.
Activities
Your Men’s Club Board continues to meet regularly by videoconferencing. With the continued closure of the clubhouse as well as outside venues, (e.g.: Trenton Thunder game) all events including fund-raising activities have been either cancelled or postponed until restrictions are lifted and we are all comfortable meeting again. As stated in my previous correspondence, membership renewal requests for the 7/1/20 – 6/30/21 year continue on hold until we can meet and provide the speakers, video, holiday and comedic entertainment that we have presented for the membership’s enjoyment in the past. I hope you are enjoying the sports trivia emails coming courtesy of Roy Cohen. Our cash position is strong, even after our generous contribution of $2,250 to the Monroe Food Bank, with adequate financial resources for the near future.
Club Website
As we review and update the Men’s Club Website regularly, please remember to visit the website at www.stonebridgemensclub.com .
In Closing
As always, thanks to the entire membership for their support of the Men’s Club.We continue to welcome volunteers to serve on our various committees. I look forward to better times and seeing all of you soon.
Be well and stay safe.
Don Marino, President and The Executive Board of the Stonebridge Men’s Club
